Salary and wages information in the job advertisements
24.09.2007
Recruitment portal brings together employers offering jobs and jobseekers. Both parties have their own demands, wishes, and expectations. In our follow up from the job seekers we got every week three to five requests to ask companies offering jobs to input data concerning salary and wages to their job seeking advisements. Their respective grand wish was to become aware of the minimal salary offered, the approximate salary range, or any other relevant information concerning benefits prior to their applying to the position in question. The terms such as “inspiring salary”, “competitive salary”, “wages corresponding to the outcome”, and other similar promises get usually interpreted by every job seeker in a different way.
Publishing the approximate salary range helps employers to get more suitable employee candidates. We hear daily about the job seekers who never care to apply as long as they remain unaware of the salary offered at the position advertised. Statistics reveals that a job advertisement including the salary range gets twice the applicants in return. Trends on the labor market indicate that an attractive salary or other benefit have become an important recruiting argument for the many companies on the market. Therefore in addition to publishing the salary and wages offered may include a good advertisement of the benefits offered to the job ad by adding them to the “Additional information on salary” field on the job ad application.
A known fact is that to the applicant more-less corresponding to the expectations the company initially pays a smaller salary and to the so called ready worker a full offered salary, therefore the job seekers to not expect from employers to publish the final exact salary and wages figure in the job advertisement. Second fact is that before recruiting for new employee most of the companies try to calculate an expected cost for the new worker. Therefore we ask to input the data concerning salary and wages on the same time leaving an option of not revealing it. Job seekers will be thankful for every bit of additional information concerning the position offered but most of all they are looking forward to the information concerning salary and wages.
